Lester and I went to Stowe Landscape Gardens for a walk today. The gardens are huge - I can't track down details of the size at the moment but will keep looking and post them here if I find the answer.
This is the Temple of British Worthies, one of many features in the garden. I took a chunk of the grass out along the width of the shot to get the temple and its reflection to fit better. There's some info. here about the people depicted : http://faculty.bsc.edu/jtatter/worthies.html
We went out in a bid to escape the two builders - or rather the pneumatic drills they were using to break up the concrete paths.
