Waltham Abbey church nave by dulciknit

Waltham Abbey church nave

Lester and I went on a little expedition to the Essex town of Waltham Abbey this afternoon. We spent most of our time there looking round the Church of the Holy Cross And St.Lawrence.

There's some info. about the church here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waltham_Abbey_Church

Edit - have now posted a closer shot of the ceiling as well : http://365project.org/dulciknit/on-the-day-extr/2012-08-26

Beautiful shot. I think these are so hard to capture because of the low lighting, but you've done it nicely.

A must on close up. Great detail of the windows and stone figures behind the altar. So hard to get good interior shots in churches, this is really lovely.

@jennywren Thank you. :-) This is done the same way as the smithy pic. The process is useful for awkward light situations and also brings out the detail in architecture really nicely.

@dulciknit Thanks for that info, that could be really helpful.

@jennywren Photomatix Pro's not cheap but it's one of those purchase on-line and download ones and you can try it out as much as you like before you buy - it watermarks what you do and you can't save it at that stage. There's other programmes that will do it (worth Googling HDR) but it seems to be the popular one to use.
