Lester had some melodeon fettling he wanted to get on with, so I took myself off to Ascott House's gardens for the afternoon. It's another National Trust property and is only half an hour's drive away. We'd been before but not for some considerable time.
The gardens are very pretty but I've never seen so many No Entry signs around a place! I'm sure there are perfectly valid reasons to keep members of the public off some of the paths through the gardens but it did make for a very hemmed in and herded feeling.
Anyway, enough moaning! This is part of the Dutch garden. I loved the way the lawns had been mown to follow the shape of their borders with the central path.
Critique welcome. Veteran 365er, 2011 vintage. Only posting occasionally and irregularly now.
I'm an abstract photography enthusiast but not exclusively so.

We joined the National Trust while we were in Cornwall this year... they have some stunning houses and gardens, am looking forward to visiting some more sometime! This lawn is an absolute labour of love, fantastic!
This looks like a picture out of a tourist's guide to England - what beautiful lawns - love how you got all the details of the mowing lines - and the peace of those two sitting there. Such a lovely feeling to this.
Amazing job of mowing; must be fun for the mowing person! Love that stunning bank of hedging/bushes in the background, too and agree with @timandelke that including the couple helps to make the shot. (Had to Google melodeon fettling to work out what you were talking about and am not much wiser, except that I gather it must have to do with cleaning of the melodeon??)
Lovely when even the lawns have a sense of pattern and style! We found a lot of places with no entry signs too- now' s the time for maintenance work before winter sets in.
@girlie Thank you, Robyn. Fettling = fixing/repairing. Lester retired a couple of years ago and has set himself up as a melodeon tuner/repairer/refurbisher. It's a self-financing hobby.
