A lovely shot showing the architecture but such a shame about the doors. I just love St Albans. I have dozens of shots but have never managed a good one of the rose window.
The architecture of this door is lovely as is the framing. Wish they'd had a security camera to catch whoever did the "addition" - Give them a toothbrush and let them do some cleaning of the church!
What a shame someone has defiled such a lovely building. Shame on them but you have taken a lovely pic and have enabled us to see what idiots there are about. They just don't deserve to live in such a lovely place
In the photo it looks chalked on, but it must be sprayed on I guess. Because I saw it initially as chalk, it didn't seem so bad to me. It is quite intellectual graffiti as far as graffiti goes. The anarchy sign ruins the whole effect though aka anarchy means no order and technically no Gods, no masters is a new order. I think I'm over analyzing this! Still, I hope it's gone next time you see this door.
@sabresun I'm afraid it seems to have been done with something more permanent than chalk, it's affected the finish on the door. That's an anarchy sign? Ah, didn't know that, thank you. Over analyzing? No, that's thinking things through! Anarchy = chaos?
