One bath duck + one long exposure + one home-made* lens cover = a bit of silliness and lots of harmless fun. :-D
I was aiming to get the exposures equal but I think I'll have a go at varying them next time I try this.
*Thank you to Lester who came up with a better design than mine.

I'm ducking out of this pun fest, but think this is a great photo - perfectly done. (Next time I'm in Stratford I'll have to have a look for some of these.)
@eyesmile@rosiekind@pflaume Thank you. I found the idea some time ago on the internet, can't remember where :( I've been trying to describe how to do this but have been finding it rather difficult to get it to make sense! Basically, it's done on a long exposure and every time you want to move the duck, you cover the lens up. Then you uncover the lens again to record the duck in the new position and cover the lens when you want to move the duck again. Once you've moved the duck to the last position, you stop the exposure after the time the camera needs to record the duck. I did a couple of test shots to start with and found I needed to give the camera 10 seconds per duck . The total exposure time for the full shot was 76 seconds = 3 positions @ 10 seconds each and the other 46 seconds = 2x with the lens covered and me moving the duck to a new position. Hope that makes sense!
And thrice the plays came forth. I feel I've been exposed to some Shakespearian creativity 10 second-duck-style. Shakespeare looks rather good as a duck I think. I wonder if there's a swan as Shakespeare around anywhere? I mean like a delux rubber duck. Stratford being known for it's swans outside the theatre and along the Avon.
@jennywren It's a lot simpler than my convoluted explanation makes it sound! This is the problem with being a learner trying to explain what I've done. The hardest part was trying to re-position it to get something approaching a tidy line. I cloned a lot of pencil marks out of the shot. :-D
How cool is this.
