It's been three months since I last posted a shot that had Pitstone windmill anywhere in it. How bad is that? :-D
Anyway, after a cold, miserable and cloudy day on Wednesday the sun came out in the evening so...
It's the seventeenth shot in my project taken of or near the mill.
Edit. If you have a moment or two to kill and fancy a look-see, my other Pitstone windmill shots can be accessed via "ab pitstone windmill" in the tags for this one.
Critique welcome. Veteran 365er, 2011 vintage. Only posting occasionally and irregularly now.

I agree it could be a painting. I really like the composition of this shot. You can look out into the landscape and then the red wheel captures the eye. Fav
Beautiful beautiful evening light in this one, Alison. I concur with @jtookey150 on how she sees this scene. Your eye begins with the landscape, the field and the yellow crop beyond, and then is drawn along to enjoy the red wheel.
@sabresun I don't have a clue, Matt, I've often wonderd myself. One of these days I'll get to the windmill when it's open to the public and ask whoever's minding it.
Superb windmill shot yet again, but giving us a different take on it! The light Is lovely, gives that back field a real glow especially with the contrasting red wheel. Fab composition. Fav. It's a must for close up.
@dulciknit i think the red wheel goes over it for some reason or other as it looks as if it's on some sort of hinge by the narrow opening where the long beam it's connected to joins the windmill. Either that or it's a spectator bench for wildlife, possibly hedgehogs.
@dulciknit It's the curve of that structure that makes me think it might. Or I could be completely wrong. There must be a ring worn out in the grass around the windmill where the wheel runs.
Perfect composition with enough space in the foreground to lead you up to that windmill, past the rapeseed fields and up to the puffy clouds. The magic hour light just casts the finishing touch over it all. Lovely Carol!
@kazlamont Thank you. Aaah - canola! Yes, it is indeed canola. It's known as rapeseed here and I was trying to remember its other name but couldn't, so thank you for that too.
