Oh, you and your alterations! ;) I can't remember exactly what I said now. Something about it being very Pre-Raphaelite in pose and form I think. It certainly has some lovely lines which the bronze tone emphasises. It is a bronze I take it?
I didn't see your first version, but I was admiring your choice of crop and how well it suits it. Lovely detail and texture and nice unobtrusive background.
Is that Wilberforce of slave trade abolition? He doesn't look very assertive, does he. And bishop for only four years. @sabresun I didn't know you could change pictures! Thanks, Matt!
@janturnbull I think that was William Wilberforce, Janet. This figure's an allegorical representation of faith rather than a depiction of the bishop himself.
Yes, nice crop. Love the PoV and love the perspective of the shot relative to the face. It shows the angst/passion off well. The light is lovely and coming in from the side shows the colour well.
It is a shame that harsh hard line slits her throat. Difficult to do much about it. Could have turned your flash right down and tried to soften it, but that may have ruined the golden colour.. Ideally a golden reflector would have filled the shadow a little and retained the light. In the absence of a reflector I think I would have post processed and softened it.
I love Winchester Cathedral. It is just the most wonderful place for light in there.
This is so beautiful; I really like the tears, (water runs) down her cheek, it giving it such a poignancy, which in turn make me feel that the lighting is adding to the sadness too
It's stone of some sort.
