Yes, this is better. The rope is a distraction, unless it has some other meaning. In this case I think it does not. So well done for spotting that. Also well done for the work. On this occasion I cannot spot any anomalies. LOL....
I'm not sure I agree. I didn't find the rope and its shadow a distraction in the previous version, rather the opposite. They added to the framing of the 'fish'. Now that they have gone it feels like something has been taken out, and you're not quite certain what (if you'd never seen VII that is) It's just a little too smoothed out, and I think the eye enjoys a little peripheral detail. Just my 2 cents.
@sabresun I take your point re. framing but I wonder how you would have felt about this if you hadn't seen the other version. I decided after mulling it over for a time that I wasn't happy with the rope. I think this is one of those occasions where perhaps we can agree to disagree but thank you for your opinion, it's always well considered and helpful. :-)
@dulciknit If I had no reference, I would no doubt not have noticed or be able to quite pinpoint what I felt was missing. I might even add in an imaginary rope without me knowing (just joking) :)
