@phil_howcroft@janturnbull They are indeed slates and are part of a water feature/sculpture, by Dan Reuben Harvey and Heather Ackroyd and called Seven Slate Towers, situated in Kew Gardens. The water wasn't running on the day I took this.
@netkonnexion Ooops - sorry! It's situated in the Secluded Garden, just above the Princess of Wales Conservatory, over to the right of the map and up a bit from the bottom.
Glad to read it is a water feature, I was worried someone had too much time on their hands when stacking the slate! You're eye for shape, light and texture is wonderful Alison :) Fav
