This is a scarf I've been knitting, shortly before I took it off the blocking table this afternoon, where it's been stretching and drying since Tuesday morning. It's a present for a friend.
For the knitters among you, it's knitted in Noro Silk Garden Sock shade #8. The stitch pattern is New Shale, taken from Sheila Don's book, the Art of Shetland Lace. It's a lovely stitch to use with this yarn because it shows the colour changes off really well.
For the non-knitters, Noro is famed for these long-stripe colour change yarns. This scarf is straight out of the ball, or SOOB as we knitters call it. ;-)
Critique welcome. Veteran 365er, 2011 vintage. Only posting occasionally and irregularly now.
I'm an abstract photography enthusiast but not exclusively so.

That's beautiful Alison. It's exactly the sort of thing my Mum would have loved. She was in to all things 'sewing and knitting'. What a lucky friend to have you, and the scarf!!
ha. from the thumbnail, I thought that this was a huge gigantic tapestry....hanging from a skyscraper! the scarf is gorgeous... the tapestry would be too heavy for the structure anyway. :)
Thank you :-) @bigsusan55 Thank you, and for the Holi powders. Umm, you won't be throwing them at me, will you? John won't want the fall-out on his floor ;-)
By the way, I still have a few Holi powders for you from India. Will bring them on Sunday.
This looks lovely - well done (and for doing all the pinning out stuff properly - I usually don't bother with all that - too impatient!! lol)
