Today is day five with no electricity, and my husband, my son and I are lucky enough to still be at my parents’ house. It was my turn to take off from work to spend the day with my son. Oh, what a long day it was. He woke up at 1:30 am. I cuddled him until he fell back asleep, but then, it took me a while to fall back asleep. He got up for good at 4:50 am, so we were both exhausted. We had a bunch of errands to run and had to stop at the doctor to get his flu shot, and he was not really happy about any of it. He took a short nap, and then spent a large portion of the afternoon just dumping toys out. Everything was so scattered about, and while we are lucky to have it as good as we do right now, scattered is the word that most seemed representative of our life right now.
Oh, I am so sorry that you are without power and staying else where. It's really difficult to be displaced, however temporary. I hope that you get your power back soon and that life can return to normal.
@egad Yes, she got it back last night. I was happy because I worried about her being by herself in her apartment in a neighborhood with no electricity, but all is well.
@jodimuli ha ha...just uploaded another shot...we have moved on to day 6!! I am enjoying the time with my parents, and they are not sick of us yet. I really don't have it that bad. There are a lot of people that have it much worse than us.
not good without electricity - and stress comes out in your son - so if you're feeling fed up and out of sorts he'll pick up on that and be unsettled too - nice shot to express your feelings
