I was about a half a second too slow to save the baby from his first wound inflicted by his big brother M. You will notice that the poor little guy has a scratch on his right eye. M. is not a gentle child, but my husband and I have been trying to train him to be gentle with the baby. I would say the results have been mediocre, but I was hoping that he would not actually inflict wounds.
I took this shot a few hours after the incident, and I am sure that at this point I am more hurt by the scratch than the baby is.
you're not going to be able to stop everything, but just teaching him will help - and your younger boy will grow up knowing all about sharing, give and take - your older one is now going to have to learn around a baby that's taken the attention he's used to having
Any parent with moe than one child knows exactly how you feel.. There will be many more times like this as well.. But in the long road everthng goes ok.. My son is 16 todayand I can remember being exactly in the same position when my daughter was born.. Ironically she is now a tough cookie and so relaxed and calm due to spending hours watching him tear around when they were younger :)
Oh dear. What a sad face but unfortunately or fortunately whichever way you look at it, there will be more times this will happen. Children are resilient and bounce back so don't worry xx
Awwww, what a sad little face. If only he knew how cute he is in his little ducky/chickie towel : ( Poor boys- it's more than not being gentle, he still has a long way to go with his fine motor skills : P
He is so adorable in this picture! Makes me want another baby!
Good photo of the little guy.
