I did it. I took a photo a day for a year. What a great year to document! When I started the project, my oldest son had just turned one, so he has changed so much during the year. Not only do my photos reflect how much he has grown, but my captions recall the events of the day and the milestones he has achieved. About two months into the project, I got pregnant. That gave me the opportunity to include a few maternity photos, but more importantly, photos of the first days of my son’s life.
On the blanket are my previous 364 photos. It was a great family moment to sit in our backyard and look at all of the photos. My older son was having so much fun picking out different photos particularly the ones that he was in! My husband would ask him to find a specific photo, and he would look through until he found the desired item. Here he was quite excited because he found a photo of a goose.
I have to thank my husband for being so supportive, and my boys for being such great subjects. My oldest son has gotten to the point that when he sees me pull out my camera he looks at it, says cheese with an accompanying unnatural, cheesy smile and then carries one with whatever he is doing.
I also have to thank my sister Katie
@mcdougall for doing this project with me. I would have quit about 364 times if it was not for her. Even today, we were texting each other asking about our final shot and cursing the rainy weather. By the afternoon, we were celebrating that the rain had gone and the sun was out just in time for us to take our final photos. Then, after we took our photos, we met up, ate pizza and she showed me the shots she took today.
I am so glad that I did this project and that I have been able to participate in the amazing 365 community. I have enjoyed the ups and downs of your lives, seeing your children grow and traveling the world daily through your photos. This is a fantastic community of people, and I thank Ross
@scrivna for giving us the forum to be creative and bringing us all together.
I will be back for year two but with fewer rules for myself. Photography has become part of my daily life now, so I could not imagine my camera going back in the closet and collecting dust as it had been.
It's been a pleasure to view your shots and I hope you have another fabulous year mrs. Excellent to have your project all laid out like this. Great stuff!
i wish i would have had something like this when my daughter was little. It would have been so wonderful to have all of the photos. I know you will cherish yours always:)
So glad you will be back!
