Super Bloom 2019 Shell Creek Road to the Carrizo Plain
Another from 2 weeks back. There’s a road off the Hwy between Hwy 101 and Carrizo Plain (closer to the Carrizo Plain though) that is well known for not only Shell fossils but also the wildflowers. They were if not equal to, more so than on the Plain but I think it was because there were less weeds here. This is all nestled between patch worked private properties so you need the keep out signage when you see it. Courtesy. It smelled wonderful! Cars parked on the side of the road, we met a couple and they asked is this place like somewhere?! Lol they went on to say well, like there’s all these flowers... we talked a bit and all laughed at ourselves all being adults that were so excited, like small children, to be in amongst wild wild flowers!
