I is for Irma Stern by eleanor

I is for Irma Stern

I'm the first to acknowledge that photos of an artist's home that is now a museum are best not taken. But I don't have an abundance of "I" options ... and with the sale last week of her painting "Gladiolus" for USD 2million /GBP 1,2million, her name has been in the press again.

Irma Stern was a South African painter, of German Jewish ancestry and education. She was a European who lived in, and loved Africa. Her work is massive, flamboyant and passionate. It's an interesting place to visit, not only to see the artworks, but also to get a glimps of the world in which she lived.
This is really neat! I especially like the painting on the easel.

I left a message on your photo earlier on and it disappeared. That is odd. I like the atmosphere in this photo and I had to look up Irma Stern on google. Thank you for a pleasant morning read.
