Day One of the SA vs India cricket test at Newlands. Because of rain, we saw more of the groundsmen taking the covers on and off, than actual cricket! But the forecast is clearing, and we'll be back on Day 3. There was a capacity crowd; convivial and ready to party in a very Cape way.

We have baseball games here that go much the same way... the ground crews get more action than the teams! Too bad you didn't have great weather, but it sounds like fun just the same.
@byrdlip Love that! I've never understood football, but I do understand rugby and that's a sport that nothing will stop either. Cricket really gets drippy.
@eleanor I think it has something to do with little boys going out and playing in the mud and snow, getting as dirty as possible without getting yelled at. Besides, its fun.
@cirasj Joe - I'll let you into a little secret - I think many people who watch cricket also don't understand it. Actually sometime the players don't appear to either!
@cmt2812 We have just decided to go and watch the afternoon session because we are betting that Tendulkar will bat this afternoon. The skies are blue, so here's hoping for a better picture this time :)
