I bought some dahlia bulbs from Mr Moosa, and the first flower opened today.

@glyn Set the diary for September - that's when the bulbs are lifted and sold. I got there a bit late in the month and was told to wait while they fetched some. Out came the spade, and bulbs were promptly dug up! That's really fresh.

Beautiful picture. Enjoy your dahlias. I have a few dahlias in my garden here in the US (though they are now *wintering* in our basement, and they are some of my favorite flowers.
