A lovely day today for a trip to Hampton Court Palace. I was there to photograph members of 'ArtsRichmond' who were given permission by the Palace to take part in a sketching event in William the third's apartments. Although stunning, the bright sunlight made for a challenging shoot as people were split by dark shadows and bright shafts of light.
I took the opportunity for a stroll outside with the long lens. I have thought about making a montage of gargoyles for a long time but each time we happen to walk over to Hampton Court I have't been carrying my 70-200mm. Today I had it with me and so here are a selection of the magnificent gargoyles around the Palace above the first floor windows. Some are very funny and some look like they were inspired by a very bad nightmare! (Best viewed large if you have time for the full effect!)
What a gorgeous collage! You should enter it for MFPIAC2 which this week is a collage based on a colour theme (I think - you might want to check that out first!)
@steampowered Thanks Paul, I had a quick look and it should comprise of 6-images so I rather overdid it… the colour could be beige! @nicolaeastwood Ha! ha! Hope @steampowered saw your comment. @tristansmum Thank you, I do like them, some have really cheeky faces and others really are frightening.
Great shot I have to FAV this!
Emma, these are a lovely collection of gargoyles
