2nd September 2014

Today we went to Richmond with Colin’s grandchildren before they start back at school but the interesting photo opportunities came in the evening when the Teddington RNLI undertook a major training exercise on the river Thames at Kingston.

Two large boats - the Yarmouth Belle and the Thames Venturer simulated a crash. in the middle of the river and there were even floating ‘bodies’ and passengers with ‘injuries’. A number of passers by were quite concerned as thy were not aware that it was a training exercise - that didn’t stop them photographing it one their mobiles though!
Great dof in this capture, and I love the way the colour of the raft is reflected in the water. What a good thing that they hold training sessions for this activity, although one hopes it will never be needed in reality.
