Today we travelled to the Rato district of the city to see the ‘Mãe d'Água’ (Mother of the Water) reservoir. It is now a water museum but is still very impressive with a massive room filled with water and higher up this tunnel which used to be filled with water within the aquaduct. I love the symmetry and the optical illusion of eternity.
