5th May 2015

There have been bad gales here today that caused our neighbors lovely Laburnham tree opposite to fall down right in front of their house. Luckily it did not break their windows although they had difficulty accessing their front door afterwards.

I felt mean taking photographs of the tree surgeons sawing it up so I decided to try and photograph the destructive wind. I thought the best way would be to capture the movement of the leaves of our tree and so using my polariser to reduce the light, an ISO100 and f/22 I managed to slow the shutter speed right down but still get detail within the image. I’m quite pleased with the effect although Colin thought it was camera shake!!
Great shot! Fav for me! Really shows the power of the wind..
