6th May 2015

Oh my goodness. Today we had to replace the shower pump. A couple of days before we went on holiday, Colin called me down to ask if I had noticed the water dripping through the dining room ceiling. Resisting the temptation for a sarky comment - I had obviously not noticed it before - we set to pulling up carpets in the spare room upstairs to discover that our shower pump had sprung a leak which had probably been going on for a number of weeks or even months. The ceiling and joists were saturated which was why the water had started to come through the ceiling.

We left it to dry out over the week we were away and now spent some considerable time replacing the pump but saving the price of the plumber. This looks pretty impressive except... we actually have a faulty pump and it does not work so another has to be sent.
From the aesthetic point of view, I like the green and copper tones in this. From a practical point of view, I really hope the next pump to arrive actually worked!
