25th June 2017

Mixed weather.

For some reason the 25th of June is a very busy day in Teddington. It is the day of the Teddington Pram race which I normally photograph and also the Hanworth Classic Car festival at Bushy Park. In addition it is the Teddington in Bloom day with access to a number of houses. On top of all of this it is the day identified for the Cambridge Crescent party which included road closure of the top of the crescent. Tamsin has done an excellent job of organising everything and our only directive was to bring chairs and a table and all odd numbered houses to bring side dishes and salad and all even numbers to bring desserts.

Living at number 25 I was on savoury duty cooked over 2kgs of new potatoes for potato salad and also made a large trip-colour said of tomatoes, mozzarella and fresh basil.

The lunch went really well and the weather just about held for the afternoon until the gales set in a little later and we rapidly had to dismantle the gazebos before they blew away. It was a good afternoon and a chance to get to know new people in the Crescent.
