We had wanted a bit of a lie in but unfortunately the car had the dropped off by 10.00am in a place called Dee Why. Originally it was supposed to go back to Kings Cross but luckily I changed it as that would have taken hours. I used my phone this time instead of the Satnav which was a lot more successful even if there was dispute over left and right out of the garage. The day had not started well as the shower seemed to run out of hot water - the first bad shower for the entire trip.
On our return by bus from Dee Why, we stopped for a coffee back in Manly then headed up for household chores of finally drying the washing and having a late breakfast. We took the rest of the day fairly slowly - I checked out the local market and later in the afternoon we walked around the 'Corso' to Shell beach. We saw the local Eastern Water Dragons sunning themselves - one was well over a foot and a half in length. The beach was packed with body beautiful people in very skimpy bikinis, it was the classic Ozzie scene with the smoke of barbecues, people playing games, practicing low tight rope walking and generally having a good time.
We bought more of the black tiger prawns in Coles and pasta for dinner although despite a guide to the apartment the size of an encyclopaedia, I could not get the ceramic hob to work as the numbers had worn off and I couldn't even tell which knob was for which ring! I eventually managed and afterwards we watched an excellent film set in Western Australia called 'Red Dog’!
