23rd December 2017

Todays long walk took us from Teddington along the tow path to Richmond where we had to stop for one of the legendary Eccles cakes and a cup of tea (in my case a short bread and hazelnut shortbread). We then continued our walk up Richmond Hill, taking in the views that Turner painted over the Thames. We kept going into Richmond Park and managed NOT to stop for more tea and cake at Pembroke Lodge. I'll admit that me legs were getting rather tired but I did not mention it as the rest of the 'walking team' were cracking on!

We headed out of the Ham Gate and back to Teddington over the footbridge. Total footsteps were 23,093 - 10.2 miles - very impressive.

Todays photo is actually of a lost but rather lovely rainbow knitted hat spotted early on in our walk on the towpath near Eel Pie Island. I tweeted a 'pic' in the hope that the hat and it's owner can be reunited in time for Christmas!

We popped out for drinks with the neighbours later in the evening at the Tide End Cottage which was nice but I think we were all a bit tired after the days exertions!
