The gardening continued and I tried to burn off some more calories by doing a lot of sweeping.
Later in the afternoon we walked to the lock as Colin has decided to give his friend Brian a family photo shoot for his 70th birthday and I need to scope a suitable location. Although they have a lovely apartment overlooking the Thames, I want a bench with a neutral background. I’m planning to have Brian and Carole seated surrounded with the four grandchildren and the tow children and spouses stood behind.
I think I’ve found the perfect spot on lock-keepers island with a bench immediately underneath a large tree - think family tree/tree of life concept. The only issue we could have is if a member of the public has nabbed the seat… I’m aiming to get their early and will have t use my powers of persuasion if this is the case. Unfortunately Brian’s wife does not think he will want a total surprise but I hope she can keep ‘schtum’ a little longer though.
"Schtum", eh?
(Also, please appreciate how hard it is for an American to put a comma outside quotation marks! I'm currently reading Lynne Truss's _Eats, Shoots and Leaves_!)
