6th January 2022

1 year, 277 days since the start of the 1st lock down in March 2020.

It was very cold last night and went down to around -5. For the first time in months we had to scrape the car. Rather rashly I had arranged a dental check up for the first time in nearly two years. I used the Covid excuse as I hate going. All seemed to be going well although I had a couple of X-rays which were really uncomfortable. Despite not seeing any problem, after the X-rays the dentist decided that apparently I need two ‘erosion’ mini fillings which I thought might be the case and a filling near my wisdom tooth that she never saw until she looked at the X-ray - it’s caused me no issue and she still couldn’t find it with her hooky tool afterwards either. I had to say sorry as I was rather rude through fear and I now have 2 appts as I want everything numbed and she can’t do that many injections in one visit. I do get the feeling sometimes that as I am a NHS patient she is trying to get more money in another way.

I took this on my way out to meet Colin - an amazing house in Cresswell Road... still didn't cheer me up!

Rather depressed we headed home and I had a last slice of Christmas cake with a lot of sugary icing as an insult to the dentist.

I had to take all the decorations and the tree down this afternoon. Although it is a lot quicker than putting them up about a month ago it is hard work. The tree hardly dropped at all and it seems such a shame to have to strip it bare and put it outside in the cold after it has stood in glory for the past month. It was one of the best trees we have had in recent years. The entire house looks very bare and I plan to get some flowers tomorrow to brighten the place up.

The first photo club of 2022 this evening but after consultation last week we decided that maybe it should begin as a Zoom only meeting as the rates of Covid are so high. The judge did very well in deciding the best PDI and print of 2021.
Stunning place, though isn't that a health and safety hazard?! 😂

Hate taking the tree down, sort of quicker, but wrapping all the baubles up and getting them away is a big job.

@boxplayer I'm not convinced if there was a fire it would be that easy to get down those stairs! It really is a big job as well and everything looks so bare - I'm getting some flowers this weekend! Happy New Year but the way, hope all's well with you.

@emmadurnford happy new year too thanks - oh you know the usual, constant anxiety and existentialist impending doom but apart from that, all great! 😂😂
