I actually enjoy doing a roast dinner and we felt like we had not quite had a Christmas without our own home cooked roast so this evening I cooked a ‘three bird’ joint from Lidl in a few hours. To accompany this we had the works of parsnips and carrots roasted with honey and sesame seeds, roast potatoes, stuffing, pigs in blankets and sprouts (I love them) with pancetta and sweet chestnuts along with my home made cranberry sauce and gravy. We were stuffed but it was worth the effort and we have enough for the next couple of meals as well.
I even found some unused crackers from the photo club Christmas social. They were incredibly cheap and basically it showed as I don’t think either of them ‘cracked’ and I couldn’t find the contents. The jokes were reliably bad as usual though which made up for it.
