18th May 2022

2 years and 52 days since the start of the 1st lock down in March 2020

We finally made it up to Hoxton and back to Sendean Cameras to collect my un-repaired lens and camera. I was feeling slightly bad about taking it back after their free quote but after they then lost my lens cap and remembering they were trying to charge more than £650 more than my other quote, I did not feel so bad.

Today the weather was lovely so we made it to the Travel Photography exhibition at Kings Cross. Every time I go up there, it seems there has been more development but often in a good and sympathetic way. The exhibitions was good but even better was the little nature reserve that we discovered - Camley Road nature Reserve run by the London Wildlife Trust which I am a member of. We had not realised that today was their very first day of reopening which included a very nice cafe where we enjoyed a salmon bagel and lovely cakes. We explored the little nature reserve afterwards which really is like an oasis in the city. As I had my camera I thought I’d give it a go but the old problem is still there and seems a lot worse.

Our last stop of the day (and we walked well over 12,00 footsteps) was to stop by the currency exchange ether we used to use near Victoria station. After getting the wrong address we eventually managed to get £100 worth of Swiss francs in ten note denominations ready for our trip in a couple of weeks - we got the bus back to Waterloo.
Love this tunnel at Kings Cross, often has a nice coloured light display.
