22 December 2022

Today was one of our seasonal practices of walking to Hampton Court Palace ice rink, not to skate but to enjoy a cup of hot chocolate watching everyone else skating! It was cold and the rink looked really good - larger this year and with the addition of a Christmas tree in the middle. I practiced using my new iPhone which eventually arrived last week after being on order for nearly two months.

Unfortunately I was so engrossed with taking photos that I totally missed the steel support holding up the side of the rink. Apparently according to Colin, as I tripped in a rather impressive fashion, I had both feet off the ground at one point before I slammed down on the floor. I got very wet from the soggy carpet but managed to keep hold of my phone so whilst I was in a crumpled heap with various bruises the phone was in one piece! I did the class of leaping up immediately to avoid embarrassment and Colin split his hot chocolate as he leapt up. I am thinking that I will feel this more tomorrow!

Apart from that it was a good day out and nice and nice and Christmassy. I made the Christmas batch of fudge later in the evening - part of our usual Christmas preparations to take to family and friends.
Lovely festive image.
