15th June 2023

I had a plan of action for today. First thing Colin drove me, the spinner and 480 cards to the Landmark Centre. And there was no parking apart from dropping off, he drove the car back and I stayed to put everything out in order in the spinner. It is intriguing as today is the day of installation of the massive ‘world’ created by artist Luke Jerram. I was hoping it would already be up but in actual fact it was just a large cherry picker in place in the middle of the building and all photography was strictly forbidden!

I walked back with the empty boxes - a relief to be able to see the spare room sofa again - before we were back in the car again. I drove over to Molesey to deliver cards to Roy (Julia was not in) and then we drove back via Hampton Court Palace.

It has been on my list to revisit the Palace as I had seen that the cornflowers were in bud on our last visit and guessed they’d be out not. Oh yes, what a simply stunning display of flowers. Cornflowers in blue and a deep purple, three different sorts of poppy and daisies and many other flowers. Sadly the storm a few days ago ad knocked some down but there was still a stunning display and now a path winding through the flowers so easier to get a good view of them. It was very calming.
Beautiful colours.
