26th September 2013

OK, so todays post should actually be a photograph of the beautiful clapper board houses on Île d'Orléans. It's not!

The day was overcast and as we drove around the island (only 47 miles in circumference) I noticed a field of cows, all different colours and looking a bit like our Highland Cattle. They were so friendly and although I know I should have focussed on the eyes, I really like this image as it makes me laugh... my 24-70mm lens was obviously more tasty than the grass I was tempting them with - best viewed large to appreciate the true 'slobberyness' of her nose and mouth!

If anyone knows the breed please let me know - thank you.

A few more cows on FaceBook... https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.616163071769711.1073741893.186301661422523&type=3
I don't know what breed this is, but she is lovely. I like the focus you used--sometimes rules are made to be broken! This is a fav for me.

@tristansmum @danette thank you both, I love the way that cows are so inquisitive but if you step towards them they walk backwards as they ares till nervous!!

@helixconcepts They were so lovely, they look a bit like Highland cattle which are a red/brown colour but these were all different colours. Île d'Orléans is a lovely place, especially St Jean, quite a different atmosphere to the city.
