There are thousands of padlocks running the length of the Hohenzollern Bridge in Cologne, which are estimated to weigh over two tonnes. I even found a nearby shop selling padlocks ranging from plain to coloured to heavily decorated, which the couple can have engraved before placing it on the bridge - if they can find a gap!
