The first mackerels have arrived (1)

SooC. Until 3 years ago, mackerels were massively coming in by June along our coast, and they were the traditional summer fishing for recreational boats. In the last two years, they only arrived in November, with the first ones trickling from early September on. Nobody seems to have a clue on why this complete reversal of seasons is happening.
What a nice effect with both sets of fishermen highlighted in the reflection. And then - later- your eye notices the lovely little beacon. The whole change in seasons is such a worry over here too - Six days into Spring and our weather is like Summer - hot, dry and fires breaking our in so many regions. It's very scary actually!

Lovely - actually lots to look at and discover in this shot. Great SOOC. Fish seem to be decreasing in many areas. A terrible sign.

Lovely shot, magic lighting. Scary story though. Climate change is affecting so many things.

Like the composition, my husband and son were fishing mackerel last July when we were in the Netherlands, my son caught 3 rather small ones and my husband none. They thought they were too early in the Season... They smoke them themselves, having a beer and chatting when it’s being done 😉
