Christmas at the Jail by eudora

Christmas at the Jail

LSU Rural Life Museum, Baton Rouge, Louisiana

This old jail was make of several layers of planks laid in different directions, nailed together with thousands of nails, making its walls supposedly secure. I find the diagonal old wood oddly pretty for a building that housed such misery.
This is neat!

That is wonderful! The diagonal placement of the planks is unusual and must have been difficult. Great texture.

It's a neat looking building -- but what sad stories it carries!
