One of my favorite buildings on the LSU Campus, the Hill Memorial Library was built in 1926. It now houses rare books and special collections. The word "library" has been removed from the facade; I just hope they don't rename it the Hill Memorial Media Center!
This photo is from the first roll I shot with my new film camera, a Canon AE-1 Program. I still prefer my Pentax K1000, broken light meter and all, but I'll try the Canon again soon.
Do other people become emotionally attached to their old cameras?
I've become emotionally attached to some of my cameras. I still regret selling my first dSLR, a Pentax DS. It was a great camera, simple and just "fit" me.
On the other hand, I hated a Pentax K10 with intermittent focus issues,. Since I use manual focus lenses so much, it took me over a year to figure out that the problem was the camera, not me, and I very gladly gave away, explaining about the focus issues.
I am very attached to my current cameras and can't right now think of anything I need that would entice me to upgrade again. And I'll keep my K100 until it finally dies as I still happily use it with an R72 filter on occasion.
I can see why the building is a favorite of yours, the picture does justice to a lovely building. Too bad about them taking down the word "library" - it seems to me that rare books and special collections should be housed in a library. At least they didn't take the building and make it into something completely different - I know of one building, covered with terra cotta tiles that are appropriate for a science/physics building, to now be called "Humanities Building" - a big change in my eyes.
