Surprised noone has salvaged the door or some of the siding. if this were here it would wind up in our one neighbo's garden in the back.. he can use just about anything. really too bad people leave it like tha.t
@bruni Thanks for commenting! Actually, there is evidence they are getting ready to tear the building down. There was a cool old Marlboro Man sign that is gone, so I think they are salvaging what they can. But I agree--it's s shame to just let something collapse like this.
It is sad to see a building in this shape, but compelling at the same time. In many cases there's enough wrong with the building that it is more cost-effective to tear it down and build something new than to try to repair what was there.
There was a house next to my father's store in Vermont for many years that was in the same condition as this house. It was amazing how long it stayed that way! It was finally torn down when a new bridge went up. Great capture!
