This is St. Paul Church in Bayou Goula, Louisiana, built in 1871. I photographed it in February: http://365project.org/eudora/365/2012-02-20. Today I was in the area, and there were people there, so I stopped and very tentatively asked if I could take a few pictures. They not only welcomed me and let me take as many photos as I wanted, but the man who lives next door took me on a tour of his historic home (beautiful!)
The building, heavily damaged by a hurricane, was about to be demolished when this nonprofit group bought and stabilized it. They are working to restore it, but it's slow going due to lack of funds....
