A railroad trestle in Columbus, Georgia. Our hotel, in the old part of town, was built around a renovated cotton mill. Early each morning, a train rounded the bend from the river over this trestle, whistle blowing, and proceeded along tracks in the road next to the hotel. Some people may have been annoyed by the whistle; I was getting up early anyway, and loved the extra touch of history!
Oooo- look at all that lovely rust! Great shot- I really like the way you've framed it using the trestle. We used to live across the street from some RR tracks. I loved hearing the whistle at night as it approached the nearby road it crossed. The echo was hauntingly beautiful.
Very pretty shot and the colours and textures and lines are very pretty, too. I don't think I would mind hearing the whistle of a train as long as I am awake.
