In memory of Elie Wiesel who died on July 2, 2016.
When you're trying to raise moral kids, you need all the help you can get. Elie Wiesel helped. In the chaos after the Holocaust, when many people tried to forget its horrors and in the years following as we moved on to other crises, Elie Wiesel kept the memories in front of us. My children all read "Night" and visited the Holocaust Museum in Houston, where this photo was taken in July 2011. Years ago my husband and I heard him speak. He was one of my greatest heroes.
“The opposite of love is not hate, it's indifference. The opposite of art is not ugliness, it's indifference. The opposite of faith is not heresy, it's indifference. And the opposite of life is not death, it's indifference.”
--Elie Wiesel
