Retirement in Florida

This fire truck is from the North Transylvania Volunteer Fire Department but it is now in retirement in Fort Pierce, Florida with a retired locomotive and railroad cars (sort of a vehicular condo. . . .) When I looked it up, I learned the department is located in Pisgah Forest, North Carolina.

Could the reason for retiring if Florida be because they don't rust there so fast. just guessing.

Looks like it served its former community well. Is someone into collecting old vehicles or are these vehicles going to a museum somewhere?
