Brazilian pepper tree?

A tree in our backyard produces these showy seeds in September. A few weeks ago, the paper had an article about an invasive species, the Brazilian Pepper Tree--an evil tree related to poison ivy that chokes out native plants. The pictures are similar, but not identical. So I don't know if our tree is evil or not. As Holly Daly @hbdaly commented about an earlier photo, it's frustrating that invasive species are so often pretty!

It is a very pretty tree and the photo looks magnificent on black.

I don't know what it is, but your local environmental education branch could probably tell you from this picture. If it is the invasive one, too bad! In the meantime you can enjoy it's beauty.
