For the rainbow challenge, I am having trouble with indigo. Isaac Asimov thinks indigo is really a deep shade of blue and many rainbows leave it out--but 7 colors work out so nicely on a calendar that I'm on a search for indigo!
This one works for me. I'm struggling with it to believe me I think I need to start now for next week already! This is a very pretty image whatever it is
In my art class days I was always told that indigo was midway between blue and violet. So I'd have to agree with Mr. Asimov in saying that it is a very deep blue. In the early days of blue jeans they were dyed with indigo. The plant has a very deep blue blossom. And while this fountain stone looks more like black to me, it could probably be argued as indigo by some. So, there you go- now you know everything I know about indigo!
@olivetreeann Thanks, Ann! The only reason I know what Asimov thinks about it is that I googled indigo. When I worked in a museum, the old textiles dyed with indigo had faded to a softer blue. Anyway, I think you were smart to substitute brown for indigo!
