We are moving back to Louisiana, home of crawfish and hot boudin, Cajun music and. . . the highest sales tax in the US. Our friends in Florida are mystified; old people move TO Florida, not AWAY. But we moved to Florida to be near our son and his family, which was great until they moved on to New Mexico. So we are going back to the place where we have roots. We will be closer to our other son in Houston, Maria will attend LSU and Brandon's Army leaves will be less complicated. Not looking forward to the process of moving, but I am looking forward to going home.
Having moved and traveled all my life, home is a moveable thing for me. I am very happy you are going back to yours. Visited NOLA once and most everyone were very engaging and lovely. Great art in the city. As for taxes, wow! I didn't think anyone could top Flagstaff rate of 8.951%.
Home is definitely where the heart is. Having just returned from a trip to New Orleans, I am ready to visit again. Looking forward to your Louisiana pictures!
Sometimes the monetary issues may seem big, but bottom line, if you love being somewhere, that's where you should be. I hope the move back goes well for you without too many glitches.
