We have a lot of Civil War reenactments in Louisiana, but not many Revolutionary War ones. This one stretched the historic truth a bit, which I only learned after Googling the battle. It commemorated the surrender in 1779 of a British fort in Baton Rouge to Spanish troops, supported by local militia. Almost certainly, none was dressed like these men, but it was a fun event anyway, attended by several DAR and SAR chapters, other historic groups AND the Southern University (an historically black university) marching band, sometimes called The Human Jukebox.
