There are many things that make 365 a great community, but at heart it is the people. Last week this classic camera arrived at my door thanks to Ann LeFevre @olivetreeann. Thanks, Ann!
When one of Ann's friends asked if she knew of anyone who would be interested in a Pentax film camera, Ann remembered that I love my old Pentax and still love film. Her friend's mother gave me her camera outfit, complete with 2 lenses, a flash, the bag, lots of accessories and the original manual! Ann packed it up and shipped it to me. I finished up the roll of film in the camera (a note said it was started July 7, 2001). Can't wait to have the first 2 rolls developed!
I love this photo and story! My first, and only, real camera was/is a Pentax. I loved that camera! It broke, and I haven’t found anyone who can fix it. I miss using it!
What a wonderful gift. Love the image, speaks to my creative insides. Would you be interested in starting a group project that posts solely in film? I follow at 3 others who work with film. If so, let me know at jysabin@protonmail.com
I have my father’s old film camera and accessories. It is in the attic.I don’t even remember what brand the camera is. I should really investigate. I just know I will not be using it.
It was a joy to be a catalyst between you and Sue's mom- they're thrilled, you're thrilled and I'm happy to have brought the two of you together. I'm looking forward to seeing what was on the film in the camera- if it survived enough for printing after all these years!
