It's hard to depict how high the Mississippi River is right now. The trees are usually on the dry land between the levee on the left and the river. It is not expected to flood in Baton Rouge.
Your words help to show how high this is- but I would imagine a before and after collage might "show" the difference. Still, I look at this and I think flood- so this photo does the job too.
