Teasel was once a terrified, skinny mama cat who'd had eight kittens too young; only two of them survived. I could not get near her, but she trusted my granddaughter enough to allow Maria to put her in a carrier for the trip to our house. She spent the next 6 weeks cowering on a shelf in the utility room. With love and regular food (and spaying and vet care) she filled out and grew a long, silky coat. She's not as scared (except for thunder) and even started to like me. My granddaughter, still her favorite, bought her a new bed and took this photo.
