Historic Westville, Georgia by eudora

Historic Westville, Georgia

I've been visiting Columbus, Georgia for the five years Brandon has been stationed at Fort Benning. Right from the start, I was intrigued by Westville, a collection of local buildings originally located in Lumpkin, GA. You know how it is: your husband doesn't want to stop, it is out of the way, I'll go next time, etc. And then they CLOSED it for relocation to Columbus. It reopened recently. I left the guys in the hotel watching the LSU-Alabama football game and finally saw Westville. It was worth the wait. Beautifully restored buildings. Like a smaller and less-commercial Williamsburg. Aaahhh....
It looks like a great place to wander and photograph- love the little church!

I love Columbus! Will have to set aside time to visit this the next time I'm there.

@margonaut I loved it, but it is a work in progress. They have more buildings to move and some of the buildings were not yet open. The Methodist church (I'm still working on the photos) has amazing interior decorative painting.
