The Lockhouse by eudora

The Lockhouse

Plaquemine Lock State Historic Site, Plaquemine, Louisiana

The lock once connected the Mississippi River with Bayou Plaquemine. It opened in 1909 and was replaced by a larger lock in 1961.
This is such a cool building!

Nicely captured. I read a book once on life by a lock but it was fictional so I'm not sure how accurate it was. This must have been a pretty busy spot when it was in operation.
